Announces that he has decided to send [Thomas] Manning on the Zambesi mission, and asks Fr Tuite to send him to Louvain. Reports that a new edition of the Epitome Instituti is almost completed and advises Fr Tuite to order copies for the members of the Irish Province. Announces that he leaves the following day for Gibraltar, and afterwards goes to India ‘on some business of the Society’.

Born in India, 1864, he belonged to the Belgian Province and later worked and died in India, 1934...he was in the Irish Catalogue in 1917, 1st Connaught Rangers, Lahore Div. He wrote 3 books called 'War Jottings' published in 1916 by the Catholic Orphan Press Calcutta. Book 3 is Mesopotamia.

Includes his last letter written on 28 March 1946 concerning his release from the Army in May.

Fr Hayes was made Senior Chaplain (S.C.F. (R.C.) in his division in January 1944. His last communication is a New Years note for 1945 (28 November 1944, 1p.).

Fr Naughton took his final vows in Manresa House (England) on 4 February 1942. Includes letter to Irish Fr Provincial from T. Includes copy of part of letter sent by Fr Perrott to his brother Fr Gerard Perrott SJ concerning a meeting with Frs Charles Day and Edward Sullivan in Calcutta (25 October 1944, 1p.). Fr Perrott was promoted to Senior Chaplain (S. C.F. (R.C.) ) in April 1945.
