Uncle of John Peston Jr, who lived most of his life at Tullabeg - RIP 1904

He was a shoemaker by trade, and appointed to this task in Clongowes, and remained at this job for more than forty years. With his care and diligence, he won the esteem of both Superiors and students. Even in his advancing years, he did not stint on hard work. He also taught many others the trade of shoemaking.
He died piously and peacefully in Clongowes 18 May 1860

Note from John Nelson Entry :
He took his Final Vows 02/02/1838 along with eleven others, being the first to whom Final Vows were given since the Restoration in Ireland. The others were : Philip Reilly of “Palermo fame”; Nowlan, Cleary, Mulligan, Michael Gallagher, Pexton Sr, Toole, Egan, Ginivan, Patrick Doyle and Plunkett.
