A file relating to the appointment of Fr Arthur Little SJ to the Chair of Philosophy at the Royal University of Malta. Includes a letter from Fr Joseph Delia SJ, St. Aloysius College, B’Raia, Malta to Irish Fr Provincial informing him that at the last minute ‘...the Rev. gentleman, who was to leave the Chair of Philosophy, changed his mind and is now determined to continue to lecture at the University.’ Expresses his regret at the situation ‘Your Reverence cannot imagine how frightfully disappointed His Grace and myself feel about this whole business, as we both realize what a disgraceful figure we are both cutting before his Paternity, Your Reverence and Father Little. A file relating to the Society of Jesus' decision to move the Noviceship and Juniorate from Tullabeg to Rathfarnham. This decision was made following the change of regulations of the National University requiring students to attend lectures in one of the University Colleges. Under the Royal University students had to pass examinations set by the University but could be prepared for the exams elsewhere.
