Includes correspondence relating to the valuation of the property and the question of the ownership of the Mungret property. Includes a certificate of valuation (25 June 1921, 7pp) and various financial accounts. Includes a ground floor plan and front elevation of Mungret College. Finally, in 1928 a further session of the Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith decided the transference of the Lay School should not be insisted on but that the two schools should be administered separately (21 April 1928, 1p). Includes letters from Michael Curly, Archbishop of Baltimore offering his support to Mungret College. List results and prizes gained by Jesuits studying at University College Dublin (1913 - 1922).

A file relating to formation, order of time, customs, discipline amongst the Jesuit Juniors at Rathfarnham Castle, Dublin. Includes correspondence between Irish Fr Provincial and Fr Rector.

A file relating to part of the Rathfarnham estate known as Cliff. Includes correspondence concerning its value and the rental of the land. It was proposed to have a novitiate there, and Charles Powell indicates that expenditure would amount to £15, 415 to fit out (6 September 1911).

A file relating to the 'Bruton Controversy/Debt'. In February 1884, Dr Bruton, a Dublin merchant transferred, to the Apostolic School, Mungret, a debt of £869.2.6 owed to him by Clongowes. According to Bruton's document of transfer, Clongowes was to pay the debt within a reasonable time, and, pending the payment of the principal sum was to pay, in addition, 3% yearly interest to the Apostolic School. Clongowes refused to pay the principal sum or the interest Includes a letter from Irish Fr Provincial Thomas V. Nolan SJ, St Francis Xavier's, Upper Gardiner Street, Dublin to Rector, Fr James Corboy SJ, Mungret College remarking that he has instructed Fr Nicholas J Tomkin SJ, Rector of Clongowes to pay £332.15.4 to Mungret. Remarks that Fr General decided that Clongowes should pay half the interest due on the debt and '…put an end finally to all disputes about the debt.' (25 June 1917, 2pp).

A file relating to the paintings in Rathfarnham Castle. Includes letters relating to the ceiling paintings by Angelica Kauffman and new decorative works. Includes letters from Joshua Clarke, J Clarke & Sons, Stain glass manufacturers & Church decorators, 33 North Frederick Street, Dublin regarding the ceiling painting by 'my lady artist' (Miss Crilly, later known as Margaret Clarke) (10 September 1913). Only one painting by Margaret Crilly was accepted, which disappointed Joshua Clarke. Initially Miss Crilly rejected the offer of £7 10 shlllings per painting. Joshua Clarke persuaded her to accept £7, but by this stage, it was too late. She received £10 for her painting and Cambridge & Co. Ltd, Dublin were engaged (October 1913), and agreed a price of £35 for the series of nine painting. The artist Patrick Tuohy completed the ceiling paintings.
