Remarks that they are very short of sisters. Concludes 'I dare say Mother Catherine (in Newry) will think I am somewhat selfish but no selfish motive activates me I assure you...'

My Darling has had a fearful task to accomplish and he has done it well...' Continues '...I believe he has raised the Irish cause to a position which it never before held in the eyes of the people of England.' Describes the packed court room and the congratulations she received after the speech 'Dear old Mrs Gladstone caught my hand in both of hers and said "it was inspiration; I believe it has all been done by prayers" - just as a Catholic might say.'
