Cha(rle)s Frazer’s Writing.’ With note on front [in Fr John Grene’s handwriting (Province Archivist, late nineteenth century)], ‘Fr Plowden Aug 3 1815 in a letter to Fr Peter Kenney SJ ask(ed) for the German title of a work on the Russian Society, translated into English by Mr. Fraser (sic).’ In four sections.

Account book of Irish Jesuit property. Includes a description of the finances of the Irish Mission account, written by Fr John Fullam SJ. Remarks 'In 1760 this mission had in Paris a capital of £1000 ster. including the deposits of individuals and what belonged to different residences. By the persecution which ensued the whole was nearly despaired of when by Fr Crookshank's activity and cleverness about half that sum was recovered and transmitted to Ireland where Mr Ward placed it as occasions presented.'

The book is annotated in pencil by Fr Edmund Hogan SJ, with inserts by Fr John MacErlean SJ.

Governor Hamilton greeted Fr Duffy very warmly and remembered how Fr Duffy saved his life in the Crimean war when he carried Governor Hamilton to an ambulance.
