Remarks ‘...my life for years has been drifting in this direction.’. Requests a meeting with Rev Tuite SJ; includes a letter from Dr Cruise, 93 Merrion Square, Dublin to Rev Tuite concerning Fr Cullen. Remarks ‘I don’t find any objection to his carrying out this wish.’.

Remarks 'They have about a score of applications from Religious Congregations and Orders for permission to take up property here within the past few years...they made an exhaustive inquiry as to whether the needs of any part of the diocese or of the whole would admit the introduction of a new congregation...they came to the unanimous conclusion that they could see no need at all for this.'

Includes a letter in which Fr Cullen remarks ‘If I might have a month or five weeks for vacation...I would prize it as it might strengthen my body and soul.’. Continues ‘I am very anxious for many reasons that my noviceship should be on the continent.’ (2 June 1881, 4pp). Includes a letter to Rev Tuite SJ thanking him for organising a place in the Novitiate of Arlon, Belgium (14 July 1881, 4pp).
